Inspired by the power of sound system culture, SB Sound System is an ongoing series from SBWORLD celebrating music, movement, and community.
Sound systems were never just about speakers and selectors. They were safe spaces, built by people who knew the power of bass to carry voices further than words ever could. They turned streets into stages, alleys into dancehalls, backyards into festivals. They were built out of necessity, but they blossomed into celebrations — of identity, resilience, and joy.
SB Sound System takes that same energy and translates it into a new language. Filmed in raw, light-filled spaces and broadcast worldwide, each set is both a tribute and a progression — keeping alive the heritage while opening doors to the future. It’s Carnival spirit, but also block party energy. It’s backyard cookout warmth and warehouse rave electricity. It’s the sound of cultures linked by history, migration, and creativity — brought together on one platform, SBWORLD.
At its heart, SB Sound System is about belonging. When the bassline drops, you feel it in your chest, and in that instant you know you’re part of something bigger. 1500sqft of creative and flexible bright white space in Peckham.
Filmed in the heart of Peckham inside a 1500 sq ft studio. The space feels open, raw, and full of energy — the perfect spot to let the music breathe.
This session captures that vibe: beats bouncing off the walls, and Peckham's creative spirit running through the whole set. A warehouse feel, but with the kind of spirit that makes the music hit different.
